THEOLOGY OF THE BODY PARENTS MEETING: Attention all
parents of teens Deanery Youth Ministries will be having its fourth
parent meeting for the Theology of the Body for Teens on Monday,
March 1, 2010, from 7-9 p.m. at the Aquinas Center. This is a great
opportunity to learn about the Theology of the Body and support
your teen in making good life decisions.
HIGH SCHOOL
THEOLOGY OF THE BODY: Are you a teen who is looking for
better answers to what life, love, and sex are all about? Do you want
a message that affirms the worth and purpose of your body? Then
come to the deanery-wide Theology of the Body for Teens program
on Sunday, March 7 from 6:00.-7:30 p.m. at the Providence High
School Activities Center. Join other teens in the area as you learn
the good news about what the Church teaches about sex, love, and

ATTENTION JUNIORS AND SENIORS! Where are you headed
in life? The Deanery ON THE JOURNEY RETREAT, scheduled for
FEBRUARY 27-28th, 2010, at Mt. St. Francis Retreat Center, is a
weekend designed to help you make the right call when faced with
what paths to take in life that will help you discover who God has
called and created you to be. Registration fee is $85. DEADLINE IS

SPRING BREAK SERVICE DAYS: Coming back home for Spring
Break, but still want to make a difference? Catholic Youth Ministries
is hosting two days of service for college-age youth on Tuesdays
March 9 and March 16. Hosted by Griffin Street Recreation Center in
New Albany, the days run from 12:30 p.m.-6 p.m., working with
senior citizens in the early afternoon and then after-school programs
in the late afternoon. A $5 donation is requested to help cover the
cost for the group meal that will follow the service activities.

MARRIAGE 101: So you popped the big question and she said,

Marriage 101 day of reflection at Holy Family Parish in New Albany
at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010. This all-day marriage
preparation event is designed to help engaged couples learn the

The Church has good news to proclaim about the family and about human love and sexuality. This good news is important for our children to learn as they are bombarded with many mixed messages from contemporary
culture, media and a variety of powerful voices. Catholic sexuality
education helps one to understand that sexuality is a gift from God, a
precious dimension of human life that requires reverence and care. It sets forth the call to chastity and recognizes the critical importance of the family and particularly parents in the education of their children in human sexuality. Unless the family continually impresses the right attitudes, unless the root values and beliefs of the faith are established in the early years of childhood development in the home, other forms of Christian education can scarcely be effective.
In helping parents with this critically important responsibility, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis is implementing revisions to the guidelines for chastity and sexuality
education in our elementary schools and both elementary and high school faith formation/youth ministry programs.
