Sacred Heart School Ministry

School Commission

The Sacred Heart School Commission is charged with the decision-making and coordination of all school efforts. The Commission works in conjunction with the School's principal, faculty, and staff, and works closely with the Marketing Committee, Enrollment Committee, and Parents Supporting the School (PSTS). The Commission is also charged with overseeing the implementation of the School's Continuous Improvement Plan, and the Roadmap to Success Plan. Specifically, the School Commission oversees coordination of the Walk-a-thon and Comedy Night. The School Commission meets monthly, with a June/July hiatus. Parents Supporting the School (PSTS)

PSTS is the parents' organization of Sacred Heart School. PSTS conducts the majority of school fundraising, as well as parent / student activities. PSTS coordinates sale of all uniform shirts, as well as used uniform clothing, all spirit wear, and spirit items. PSTS plans and hosts the Sacred Heart Street Dance, Breakfast with St. Nick, the Lenten Fish Fry, Scholastic Book Fairs, Pastries with Parents, Open House "hospitality room," and other various fundraisers including flower sales. The majority of proceeds from PSTS fundraisers go to the school's technology program. PSTS has five general meetings a year, open to all school parents. The Executive Board meets monthly. Development/ Planning/ Marketing

These committees plan and coordinate capital campaigns for student financial aid (development), and marketing efforts to promote the school. The Development committee plans and hosts the Helping from the Heart dinner, and assists with registration at open house. The marketing committee coordinates publicity for school events and for the school's January Open House, as well as oversees the definition and development of school "branding," logos, and slogans. The Marketing committee works closely with PSTS on development and distribution of spirit wear and spirit items. Contact: Christa Hoyland (marketing)

Enrollment Committee

The Enrollment committee coordinates and plans outreach to the parish communities and the community at large with the purpose of raising enrollment and fostering a sense of connection to Sacred Heart School. They coordinate and serve as hosts and tour guides at Open House and are responsible for developing an "ambassador" program, and outreach specifically to parish families with young and school aged children. They provide direct, personal, meaningful contacts to those outside the school community. Contact: Rebecca Lovan

Facilities

Responsibilities include overseeing maintenance and repair of school and grounds, particularly school renovation. Contact: Mike Prechtel and Bill Bissig 

Technology

Oversees and implements school technology programs, including web and computer maintenance and networking. May also assist in computer classroom. Contact: Cathy Bremmer 

School Volunteers

Volunteers are needed in nearly every area of school operations, including, but not limited to: cafeteria, playground, library, classroom, tutoring, office work, and school events. Contact: Susan Wilson

Adopt-a-child

This ministry of St. Augustine Parish coordinates outreach and requests donations for families in need of assistance with Catholic school tuition. Proceeds from an annual children's clothing and items sale benefits Adopt-a-Child. Contact Ann to volunteer to help or donate. Contact: Ann Northam
