Policy For St. Augustine Students
Attending Sacred Heart School
The Catholic Community of Jeffersonville supports Catholic education. Our families are expected to pay New Albany Deanery elementary school tuition. It is because of this support that the
Faith Formation Commission finds it necessary to initiate the following policy:
-
Families must be registered, active members of St. Augustine Parish. An active member is defined as one who participates in the parish stewardship by giving of their time, talents, and treasure to St. Augustine parish,
and faithfully attends Mass.
-
The money that St. Augustine budgets toward Catholic elementary education
will be used exclusively for the furthering of Catholic education at Sacred
Heart Elementary School, Jeffersonville, IN. In turn, Sacred Heart School will
admit any St. Augustine Parish children at the same tuition rate as Sacred Heart
parish children.
For more information contact
Ann Northam at the Faith
Formation office.
Policy For Students Attending Our Lady of Providence Junior and Senior High Schools
The Catholic Community of
Jeffersonville supports Catholic Education. Each year, St. Augustine Parish is assessed a significant dollar amount to support Our Lady of Providence Junior and Senior High Schools. In return for this financial contribution, members of St. Augustine Parish who attend Our Lady of Providence Junior or Senior High Schools pay a discounted rate of tuition. It is because of this support that the
Faith Formation Commission finds it necessary to initiate the following policy:
- Families with one or more children attending Our Lady of Providence Junior High School and/or Our Lady of Providence Senior High School will be eligible for the discounted rate of tuition given to member families if the family has maintained active parish membership for a minimum of one (1) calendar year. (An active member is defined, as one who participates in the parish stewardship by giving of their time, talents, and treasure to St. Augustine Parish).
- Families with one or more children attending Our Lady of Providence Junior High School and/or Our Lady of Providence Senior High School will be ineligible for the discounted rate of tuition if the participation in parish stewardship is discontinued for three (3) calendar months.

The commission is sensitive to the needs and expenses of all
families. If a parishioner needs assistance to attend Sacred Heart School,
please contact the parish accountant,
Teresa Oberhausen,
to fill out financial aid forms requesting assistance with elementary school
tuition payments.

Endowment Fund
Dear Parishioners,
We are reminded of what Jesus taught us, "When we give, we receive some blessing from God in return." The
Catholic Community of Jeffersonville faith formation office would like to take this opportunity to ask for your consideration of the Educational Endowment fund when looking for ways to assist others in need.
This fund allows for many children in our St. Augustine Parish to receive a Catholic education that might otherwise not be available to them. Your help provides financial stability and support to ensure that a Catholic education remains a reality for the future. To date, the endowment has made it possible for two high school seniors and one elementary student to receive a Catholic education. These funds are also used to purchase computer software for our religious education classrooms.
The Endowment fund enables our vision to become a reality. It provides for an endowment for the purpose of:
- Funding Catholic education at New Albany Deanery Parochial Schools with emphasis on assisting needy families
- Strengthening parish educational resources.
Your gift can be given in many ways, such as:
Bequests - A donor may leave cash, securities, real estate, or other assets by will. The gift may be designated as a specific amount or as a percentage of the estate. Through the years, gifts of this type have played a major role for the Church.
Memorials - One may request in the event of a death that donations to the fund be made in lieu of flowers.
Life Insurance - Life insurance policies originally designated for protection may be unnecessary for a currently independent family. These can become a large gift at little or no new cost. Or , you may desire to participate in a new policy which requires no physical examination or insurance forms.
Life Estate - The legal title of personal residence can be passed to the Church while the donor retains the right to live in the residence until death. This also provides an initial tax deduction.
We thank you in advance for your generosity. If you have any questions, please contact the faith formation Office at (812) 282-1231. Donations or gifts may be sent to:
Education Endowment fund c/o faith formation Office P. O. Box 447 Jeffersonville, IN 47130
Your generosity will be most appreciated, and will benefit future generations at St. Augustine Parish. |
